These clips keep the outer seat belts out of the way when folding down" the rear seats.

^

When the rear outer seat belts are not in use, secure the seat belts in these clips to allow the rear seat to fold down properly as needed.

Sun Roof Switch

The sunroof has a 5-position slide switch to control the automatic opening operation.

^

Please note position 4 is highlighted with a white mark and has a slightly stronger "detent" feel than the other positions (see Figure 4).

^

Positions 1 through 4 are for normal driving conditions. Position 5 (fully open) is not intended for use while driving.

^

If the vehicle is driven with the sunroof switch in position 5, a wind buffeting noise will be heard inside the vehicle.

Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System (NVIS/NATS)

The vehicle immobilizer system is now controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM).

^

When a NATS ignition key or BCM is replaced, C/U Initialization and Key Registration MUST BE PERFORMED or THE VEHICLE WILL NOT
START. This procedure is also needed when registering new keys.

NOTE:

If the BCM is replaced, the keyfob ID Codes will also need to be entered into the new BCM. This is a separate procedure from the C/U
Initialization and Key Registration. See the Service Manual (ESM), section BL, for keyfob ID code entry procedures.

CONSULT-II Connection:

The Murano requires the use of the new CONSULT-II Converter and cable set.

^

The old DLC-II cable CANNOT be used on the Murano. If you try to do this, the vehicle will go into CAN Fail-safe mode (see NTB02-076).

such as the Murano.

CVT Xtronic Transmission Fluid

^

The 2003 Murano has the all new Xtronic (CVT) transmission.

^

The Xtronic (CVT) transmission requires a special Nissan CVT NS-2 transmission fluid.

^

This is the only authorized fluid. It must be used for all service and/or repairs.

^

Use of any other automatic transmission fluid (such as Nissan Matic D or J) will cause deterioration in driveability and transmission durability.
