2003-2005 MURANO; REVISED ALTERNATOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IF YOU CONFIRM:

The alternator on an Applied Vehicle needs to be removed for any reason,

ACTION:

Use the Revised Alternator Removal and Installation Procedure in this bulletin.

NOTE:

This revised procedure is different then the one currently in the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Murano Service Manuals (ESM's).

Please use this procedure until the ESM is updated, or until the Service Manual Amendments (SMA's) become available. Service Manual
Amendments (SMA's) will be provided at a later date.

CLAIMS INFORMATION

REVISED ALTERNATOR REMOVAL and INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Removal:

1.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.

Remove the engine undercover, using power tools.

3.

Remove the engine right side (passenger side) undercover.

4.

Remove the cooling fan.

Refer to section CO in the Service Manual (ESM).

5.

Remove the exhaust manifold cover and three-way converter cover (left side).

Refer to section EM in the Service Manual (ESM).

6.

Remove the engine main harness (left side) clip.
