Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to the right and then back to center.

Steering wheel did not lock when turning left and right; INSPECTION OK

a.

Turn ignition knob to ON.

b.

Place shift selector in Park.

c.

Turn ignition knob to LOCK.

d.

Return the vehicle to the customer.

Steering wheel locked when turning left or right; INSPECTION NG

-->Go to Replace Ignition Lock.

Replace Ignition Lock

1.

Turn ignition knob to ON.

2.

Place shift selector in Park.

3.

Record the radio station presets.

4.

Turn ignition knob OFF.

5.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

6.

Remove the hood release handle:

a.

Remove the bolts shown in Figure 4.

b.

Slide/pull the handle towards the driver seat.

c.

Pull it down and away from the lower trim.
