Axle Bearing: Adjustments

HARDBODY PU

1.

Raise and support front of vehicle.

2.

Remove brake pads.

3.

While rotating disc, torque wheel bearing locknut to 18-22 ft. lbs on all except Pickup models. On Pickup, torque to 25-29 ft. lbs.

4.

Loosen locknut approximately 60° on all except Pickup models. On Pickup, loosen 45°. Install adjusting cap and align groove of nut with hole in
spindle. If alignment cannot be obtained, change position of adjusting cap. Also, if alignment cannot be obtained, loosen locknut slightly, but not
more than 15°.

5.

Install brake pads.

VAN

No adjustment is necessary.  Torque wheel bearing lock nut to:

195-260 Ft. Lbs.
