7. Remove the screws. Then while pressing the tab, pull the spiral cable away from steering column assembly.

CAUTION:
-

Do not disassemble spiral cable.

-

Do not apply lubricant to the spiral cable.

8. Disconnect the spiral cable connectors.

CAUTION:
With the steering linkage disconnected, the spiral cable may snap by turning the steering wheel beyond the limited number of turns. The
spiral cable can be turned counterclockwise about 2.5 turns from the neutral position.
9. Remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable. Refer to See: Sensors and Switches/Sensors and Switches - Steering and

Suspension/Sensors and Switches - Steering/Steering Angle Sensor/Service and Repair/Type 1 - VDC/TCS/ABS for Type 1, or See: Sensors and
Switches/Sensors and Switches - Steering and Suspension/Sensors and Switches - Steering/Steering Angle Sensor/Service and Repair/Type 2 - Hill
Descent Control/Hill Start Assist/VDC/TCS/ABS for type 2 systems.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
