Remove the driver's door sill scuff plate, left side interior kick panel, and accelerator pedal stopper cover as shown in Figure 2.

Starting from the front of the vehicle, turn back the carpet to expose the foam carpet backing. (The carpet can be easily pulled from the
transmission tunnel under the console without removing the console).

Using a utility knife (or similar tool) carefully remove the foam backing from the carpet in the area directly behind the urethane shoe protector
shown in Figure 3.

Re-install the carpet.

6.

Re-measure the distance between the brake pedal and the transmission tunnel. Confirm that this distance has been increased by at least 20 mm.

7.

Re-install the accelerator stopper cover, left lower kick panel, and the drivers door sill scuff plate.
