AUTHORIZATION
Nissan Motor Corporation, Ltd., has authorized Nissan Motor Corporation, U.S.A. (NMC), to conduct a campaign on certain 1996 Pathfinders.
INTRODUCTION
In order to allow additional clearance in the area between the brake pedal and the transmission tunnel, a portion of the foam carpet pad must be removed.
IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
96V-031 has been assigned as the identification number of this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation dealing
with this campaign.
NUMBER OF VEHICLES POTENTIALLY AFFECTED:
Less than 1800
DEALER RESPONSIBILITY
It is the dealer's responsibility to repair each vehicle within the range of this campaign which for any reason enters the service department. Federal law
requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil
penalties by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Measure and record the distance between the brake pedal and transmission tunnel as shown in Figure 1.
