Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold attaching nuts.

3. Disconnect any vacuum hoses or electrical connectors that interfere with manifold removal, Fig. 5. Mark hoses and connectors for installation

reference.

4. Remove A/C compressor from its bracket and position aside. Do not disconnect refrigerant lines.
5. Remove alternator from its bracket and position aside.
6. Remove compressor and alternator brackets.
