SERVICE INFORMATION
If a bracket that holds the heat shields/insulators on the center exhaust tubes breaks or cracks it can cause a buzz noise, especially during acceleration
from a stop on a 1996 Pathfinder. These brackets are welded to the main muffler tubes and are not available as separate parts.
The incident may, if it occurs, be duplicated by driving the vehicle and accelerating moderately. A high pitched buzz noise may be heard at 2000 to
3000 rpm.
Use the part numbers and the procedure provided in this bulletin to repair the incident.
