Remove any rubber residue or dirt remaining on the strut rod (see Figure 2).

Apply a silicone grease (Dow Corning Moly-coat 822M, Moly-coat 33M or equivalent) to the strut rod as shown, approximately 40 mm (1.5 in.).

Do not apply grease to the rubber side.

4.

Apply a soap solution around the top of the rubber as shown to ease installation.

5.

Reinstall the bumper rubber into the spring upper seat.
