VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN
1996-97 PATHFINDER AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLERS OPERATING IN ALASKA
CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION NO: P7104
APPLIED VEHICLE:
1996-97 Pathfinder (R50) with an auxiliary A/T fluid cooler operating in Alaska
INTRODUCTION
In severe cold weather (below -30 F), some 1996-97 Pathfinder vehicles with auxiliary A/T fluid coolers may experience insufficient lubrication to the
automatic transmission. If the condition occurs for some time, the automatic transmission may be damaged. To prevent this, use the following procedure
to disconnect the auxiliary A/T oil cooler and install a countermeasure A/T control unit.
IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
Nissan has assigned identification number P7104 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation of any nature
dealing with this campaign.
DEALER RESPONSIBILITY
Alaska dealers should perform this service campaign on all affected vehicles brought in for service and on vehicles in dealer inventory. Owner's of
affected Pathfinders will be notified by mail (Owner's Letter shown). However, we see also requesting Alaska dealers to contact their customers directly.
NOTE:
Future deliveries of new 1996-97 Pathfinders to your dealership will have already had this service campaign procedure performed. To confirm this,
check if the auxiliary A/T fluid cooler has been disconnected. 1998 Pathfinders are not affected by this service campaign.
