Repair:

1.

Lower the door window glass 6-7 in. above waist molding (bottom of window opening).

2.

Remove door finisher:

a.

Remove door pull handle trim piece, arm rest, and power window switch panel.

b.

Unplug two power window switch connectors.

c.

Remove three 10 mm bolts and unclip/unfasten finisher from door.

 
3.

Remove lower A-pillar area triangular trim piece.

4.

Remove the plastic door liner at upper right corner.

5.

Inside the door find and unplug the two side door mirror connectors (2-pin and 3-pin type).

6.

Remove side door mirror assembly from door (remove three 10 mm bolts from lower A-pillar area).

7.

Remove the screw from the bottom side of the side door mirror base.

8.

Remove the rubber gasket.

9.

Remove seven screws inside the side door mirror assembly to lift the mirror base out.

Drill two 4.2 mm (5/32 in) diameter holes 41 mm (1.6 in) apart into the mirror base outside trim plastic (see Figure 5).

 
11.

Install seal packing listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin onto the mirror base outside trim.

12.

Reassemble side door mirror assembly in reverse order of disassembly.
