IMPORTANT:

Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Write down the radio station pre-sets.

2.

Shift the gear selector to the 1st gear position. Make sure the parking brake is applied.

3.

Disconnect both the negative and positive battery cable. Then wait at least 3 minutes.

4.

Pull the center dash "Switch Assembly" (face unit) loose from the dash (see Figure 2).

There are 4 clips, one at each corner.

Pull the switch assembly "straight-out" at the top and the bottom.

5.

Mark the location of the two "white-8 pin connectors" with a felt maker so they won't be mixed up (see Figure 3).

These two white connectors are identical, except for the harness length and the number of pin slots used.

6.

Disconnect each of the electrical connectors from the switch assembly.
