For modules and pre-tensioners that use the locking connectors shown in Figure A12:

Pull up to release the black locking tab prior to removing connector from the SRS component.

Push down to lock the black locking tab after installing the connector.

When locked, the black locking tab is level with the connector housing.

Driver Air Bag Module Connectors

Refer to Figure A13.

1.

Remove the left and right side bolts.

2.

Lift the driver air bag module from the steering wheel.

3.

Disconnect the air bag harness and horn connectors, then remove the driver air bag module.

NOTE:

Make sure to use new bolts and torque them correctly when reinstalling the module.
