Lifter / Lash Adjuster: Testing and Inspection

1. Check contact and sliding surfaces for wear and scratches.

NOTE:  When removing valve lifters from lifter guide, note their original position for reassembly.

2. Check the diameter of the valve lifter. The outer diameter is 15.947 - 15.957 mm (0.6278 - 0.6282 inch).
3. Check valve lifter guide inner diameter. The inner diameter is 16.000 - 16.013 mm (0.6299 - 0.6304 inch). The standard clearance between valve

lifter and lifter guide equals the lifter guide inner diameter minus the valve lifter outer diameter: 0.043 - 0.066 mm (0.0017 - 0.0026 inch).
