Visually inspect all four tires and locate tread blocks with the largest amount of uneven heel-toe wear (see Figure 1). Check center tread "rows" as
well as inside and outside tread rows (see Figure 2).

NOTE:

Uneven heel-toe wear usually occurs on the front tires only. However, inspection of all four tires is necessary because the tires may have been
rotated.

Use the go/no-go gauge, (tool # J42967) supplied, and measure the amount of uneven heel-toe wear. Place the tool on a tread block lightly and
slide it towards the next block in the opposite direction of tire rotation. Take multiple readings per tire to locate the largest heel-toe wear. The
shorter end of the gauge is for General tires and the long end is for Dunlop and Bridgestone tires (refer to labels on the gauge itself).

If the leading edge of the gauge interferes with the adjacent tread block, the tire fails (see Figure 3). Mark this location with a grease pen or other
suitable this will assist the NMC Warranty auditing process.
