Inspect the rear muffler on the bottom rear edge of the muffler for rattle noise and corrosion per the instructions below. See Figures 15a and 15b.

A.

NOISE: Gently tap the rear muffler assembly with a rubber mallet on the front end casing and listen for any rattle noise that may come from
the muffler. If there is no noise, proceed to step 2B. If there is a rattle noise, replace the muffler. After installing the new muffler, proceed to
step # 3. Replace the muffler under normal warranty procedures.

CORROSION: If there is no corrosion or corrosion that does not go more than 1.75" beyond the center of the bottom seam, proceed to step
# 3. See figure 15b. If the corrosion extends beyond 1.75 from the center of the bottom seam or there is any perforation due to rust, replace
the muffle See figure 15a. After installing the new muffler, proceed to step # 3. Replace the muffler under normal warranty procedures.

Remove the acetate template page from the bulletin and cut out the template shape using scissors.

CAUTION:

If the template is not used, the drill may damage the muffler seam or baffle.

Use the provided acetate template to mark the rear muffler as shown (see Figure 16). Position the template so that the line marked through the
center hole is aligned straight up and down. The template will not touch the muffler bracket welded on the right side.
