4. Install snap ring while compressing clutch springs.

Do not align snap ring gap with spring retainer stopper.

5. Install drive plates, driven plates, retaining plate and dish plate. 
6. Install snap ring.

7. Measure clearance between retaining plate and snap ring. If not within allowable limit, select proper retaining plate. 

Specified clearance:

Standard: 0.5 - 0.8 mm (0.020 - 0.031 inch)
Allowable limit: 1.2 mm (0.047 inch)

31537-42X02: 4.8 mm (0.189 inch)
31537-42X03: 5.0 mm (0.197 inch)
31537-42X04: 5.2 mm (0.205 inch)
31537-42X05: 5.4 mm (0.213 inch)
31537-42X06: 5.6 mm (0.220 inch)
