There may be a wind leak noise coming from the front or rear door glass run rubber area (See Figure 1).  The incident usually occurs at highway speeds
of 55 MPH and up (always drive safely and observe all traffic laws).
 
Incident can be identified by an assistant (not the driver) listening with a stethoscope or other tube-type headphones around the perimeter of the door
glass while the incident is occurring.

Isolate:
The inner lip of the glass run rubber may not exert enough outward force on the door glass to completely seal against wind noise.  Use the glass run
rubber listed in the Parts Information table at the end of this bulletin to resolve the incident.

Repair:
1.

Lower the door window glass 6-7 in. above waist molding (bottom of window opening).

2.

Remove door finisher:

a.

Remove door pull handle trim piece, arm rest (front door), power window switch panel, and finisher cover (rear door).

b.

Unplug two power window switch connectors.

c.

Remove three (front doors) or two (rear doors) 10 mm bolts and unclip/unfasten finisher from door.

 
2a.

Front doors only:
a.

Remove lower A-pillar area triangular trim piece.

b.

Loosen side door mirror assembly (loosen three 10mm bolts at lower A-pillar area).

 
3.

Remove the plastic door liner.

4.

Remove door glass.

5.

Remove glass run rubber

 
5a.

Front doors only:

Clean painted metal surface where the outer lip of the glass run rubber was positioned to remove any residual adhesive.  Use an appropriate
solvent.

 
6.

Install applied glass run rubber from the Parts Information section of this bulletin.

 
6a.

Front doors only:

Start installation at bottom end of B-pillar area and work towards the roof top, then begin at bottom end of A-pillar area and work towards the
roof top, finish up by working across the roof line.

If the double sided tape on the outer lip of the glass run rubber does not adequately stick to the A-pillar area, apply suitable adhesive (3M
Super Weatherstrip Adhesive P/N 051135-08008 or equivalent).  Clean off any excess adhesive from the glass run rubber and the A-pillar area
after application.
