1996-97 PATHFINDER CD PLAYER IMPROPER OPERATION DUE TO
HOT AIR FROM HVAC UNIT
APPLIED VEHICLE:
1996-97 Pathfinder (R50)
SERVICE INFORMATION
If the CD player of a radio/CD combo unit in a 1996-97 Pathfinder functions improperly (i.e., skips, is inoperable, etc.), or the CD player/radio unit feels
hot to the touch, hot air from the HVAC unit may be leaking onto the unit. A countermeasure foam seal is available to block any hot air flow from the
HVAC duct to resolve this incident.
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to a radio/CD player combo unit only (see Figure 1).
NOTE:
To prevent hot air from blowing onto the audio head unit, install the countermeasure foon all 1996-97 Pathfinders where service requires audio head
unit removal or replacement for any reason.
