With a 27mm deep socket and an appropriate capacity torque wrench on the companion flange lock nut and using the Kent-Moore Special Tool
J25774 for securing the companion flange, torque the main gear shaft lock nut to 118 to 137 n-m (12 to 14 Kg-m, 87-101 ft.-lbs.).
9.
Paint the companion flange white to indicate that the work has been done and need not be repeated should the vehicle again enter the shop.
10.
To reassemble, reverse the above procedure using the propeller shaft match marks to reconnect the propeller shaft to the transfer case flange.
