Diesel MFI Pump Controller: Testing and Inspection

1.

With ignition switch off, disconnect electrical connector from starter motor ``S'' terminal.

2.

Connect test lamp between terminals M+ and M of injection pump control unit, Fig. 45.

3.

Disconnect electrical connector from oil pressure switch.

4.

Connect jumper wire between terminals S and C, Fig. 45. Test lamp should light for 10-20 seconds.

5.

Reconnect jumper wire between terminals D and C, Fig. 45. Turn ignition switch on and ensure test lamp lights for 10-20 seconds.

6.

Turn ignition switch off, then ground oil pressure switch electrical connector.

7.

Reconnect jumper wire between terminals D and C, Fig. 45. Turn ignition switch to start position and ensure test lamp lights for 10-20 seconds.

8.

Turn ignition switch off. With oil pressure switch still grounded, reconnect jumper wire between terminals S and C, Fig. 45. Turn ignition switch
on and ensure test lamp lights for 10-20 seconds.
