Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Component Tests and General Diagnostics
Air Flow Meter Test
1.
Pull back the rubber insulator on the air flow meter connector.
2.
Start engine and warm to operating temperature.
3.
Using a volt meter, check voltage between terminal E and ground.
There should be:
1.0 - 1.3 volts at idle.
Less than 0.5 volt w/key on and engine stopped.
If not, check the hot wire for damage or dust and replace the meter if faulty.
