Remove left side driveshaft as follows:
a. Raise and support vehicle.
b. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
c. Depress brake pedal and remove wheel and tire assembly.
d. Remove brake caliper assembly. Do not disconnect brake hose from brake caliper. Do not depress brake pedal while caliper is removed.
Ensure brake hose is not twisted.
e. Remove tie rod ball joint.

Separate driveshaft from knuckle by tapping it slightly. Cover boots with rags to prevent damage.
g. Using suitable screwdriver, remove driveshaft, Fig. 7. Be careful not to damage pinion mate shaft and side gear.

Using suitable puller, remove oil seal.
3.
Apply coating of transmission fluid to oil seal surface, then drive new oil seal into place.
4.
Install left driveshaft assembly by reversing steps 1a through 1g. Be extremely careful not to scratch oil seal when inserting driveshaft.
