Refer to the illustrations when servicing.
1. Remove strut assembly fixing bolts and nuts (to hood ledge).
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE PISTON ROD LOCK NUT ON VEHICLE.
2. Reverse procedure to install, tightening the piston nut to 59 - 78 Nm (43 - 58 ft. lbs.) and the mounting nuts to 39 - 54 Nm (29 - 40 ft. lbs.).
