Wheel Bearing: Testing and Inspection
Front Wheel Bearing

1. Check that wheel bearings operate smoothly.
2. Check axial end play. The axial end play is 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch).
3. If axial end play is not within specification or wheel bearing does not turn smoothly, replace wheel bearing assembly.

NOTE:  The wheel bearing does not require maintenance. If any of the following symptoms are noted, replace the wheel bearing assembly.

Growling noise is emitted from wheel bearing during operation.

Wheel bearing drags or turns roughly. This occurs when turning hub by hand after bearing lock nut is tightened to specified torque.
