Inhibitor Switch: Description and Operation

COMPONENT DESCRIPTION 

Inhibitor switch 

Detects the selector lever position and sends a signal to the A/T control unit.

Park/Neutral Position Switch 

When the gear position is "P" or "N", park/neutral position switch is "ON". The A/T control unit detects the position because the continuity of the line
(the "ON" signal) exists. The A/T control unit sends the park/neutral signal to the ECM.
