Manually lock the front door latch with the door lock rod (see Figure 2).

7.

Push and hold the lock knob down to keep the door in the locked position (see Figure 2).

8.

Tighten the lock rod bell crank bolt to 5 Nm (44 in.-lb.) - see Figure 1 for location of lock rod bell crank bolt.

9.

Remove the power window finisher and power window switch assembly.

10.

Look at the build date code on the sticker on the side of the power window switch assembly (see Figure 3).

11.

Confirm that the build date code on the power window switch assembly is 9250 or later (see Figure 3).

NOTE:

"9" in the build date code stands for the year in which the switch assembly was built (the year 1999). "250" stands for the day of the year (250th day)
on which the switch assembly was built.

12.

If the build date code is 9249 or earlier, at this time you must also replace the power window switch assembly with the appropriate part listed in
the PARTS INFORMATION Section of this bulletin.

If the build date code is 9250 or later, re-use the same switch.

13.

Re-install the power window finisher.

14.

Re-position the water shield.

15.

Re-install the driver's side door trim panel.

16.

Repeat Steps 2 through 15 on the passenger's side front door.

17.

Confirm that the condition has been corrected.
