While lifting the steering column upper cover slightly by hand, install the new combination switch and bottom screw (see Figure 5).

NOTE:

Tighten the bottom screw only two to three turns at this time. This will ease the installation of the top screw in step 8.

While lifting the steering column upper cover slightly by hand, install and tighten the combination switch upper screw (see Figure 6) to 27 in-lb.

9.

Finish tightening the combination switch bottom screw (see Figure 7) to 27 in-lb.

10.

Reinstall the lower steering column cover with the four securing screws. Torque them to 9 in-lb.

11.

Reconnect the negative cable of the battery.
