1993-1998 QUEST SLIDING DOOR POP NOISE WHILE DRIVING

APPLIED VEHICLES:
1993-1998 Quest (V40)

SERVICE INFORMATION

If a 1993-1998 Quest has either or both of the following symptoms;

A pop noise is heard from the sliding door area while driving the vehicle and making a left or right turn, or when driving over rough/bumpy roads.

^

After an initial pop noise, a distinct rattle is heard in the sliding door area while driving.

The sliding door rear latch may be moving from the primary position to the secondary position due to mis-adjustment of the rear latch activation rod.

If this should occur, use the Service Procedure provided in this bulletin to adjust the rear latch activation rod and correct the incident.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Remove the inside door handle finisher on the sliding door.

2.

Remove the sliding door panel finisher.

3.

Peel down the protective plastic from the inside of the door panel.

 Release the rear latch activation rod from the plastic tab (see Figure 1).
