Turn the activation rod clockwise. Doing this will lengthen the outside door handle unlatch stroke (see Figure 2).

NOTE: 

Adjust the activation rod so that the sliding door rear latch releases with the outside door handle between 3/4 pulled to fully pulled.

When the adjustment is complete for the outside door handle, check the inside door handle to ensure it also releases the sliding door rear latch
correctly.

7.

Reinstall all parts in reverse order.

8.

Test drive the vehicle under the conditions described in the Service Information section to verify the condition is corrected.

SERVICE INFORMATION

If a 1993-1998 Quest has either or both of the following symptoms;

A pop noise is heard from the sliding door area while driving the vehicle and making a left or right turn, or when driving over rough/bumpy roads.

^

After an initial pop noise, a distinct rattle is heard in the sliding door area while driving.
