Remove the trim panel next to the Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) See figure 1 for SECU location.

At connector M46 of the SECU, back probe pin terminal 27 (Unlock Sensor RH, G/Y wire) and pin terminal 28 (Unlock Sensor LH, R/Y wire)
using a suitable tool. Refer to Figure 2 below for pin locations. Leave connector M46 connected to the SEGU.

Use CONSULT-II to monitor voltage on connector M46 pin terminals 27 & 28:

NOTE:

Connect CONSULT-II to AC power if necessary, depending on CONSULT-II's state of charge.

a.

Turn CONSULT-II "ON."

b.

Touch "SUB-MODE."

c.

Touch "MEASUREMENT."

d.

Touch "Voltage (Dual)."

e.

Connect the Red CONSULT-II lead to the back probe tool on M46 pin terminal 27 (G/Y wire).

f.

Connect the Blue CONSULT-II lead to the back probe tool on M46 pin terminal 28 (R/Y wire).

g.

Connect the ground lead of CONSULT-II to a suitable ground.

5.

Observe the voltage readings on the CONSULT-II screen:

It the voltage reading is below 0.8v, continue testing by proceeding to step 6.

If the voltage reading is above 0.8v, proceed to the "Lock Rod Operation and Adjustment Test" in this bulletin.
