1. Inspect the wires at the back of the Purge Volume Control Valve connector.

^ Check for a broken wire inside the plastic sheath. If a wire is broken inside the plastic sheath, the plastic sheath will stretch when pulled.

2. Wire check results:

^ Wire is broken: Go to Install Harness Service Kit shown below.

^ Wire is not broken: This bulletin does not apply. Refer to ASIST for further diagnostic and repair information.

Install Harness Service Kit

1. Write down the radio station presets.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove the air duct and resonator assembly.
