Steering - Squeak When Turning Steering Wheel

2008 ROGUE; NOISE WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL

APPLIED VEHICLES: 2008 Rogue (S35)

IF YOU CONFIRM

There is a squeaking or rubbing noise when the steering wheel is turned

and

The noise can be isolated to the steering rack pinion shaft column seal (dash seal).

ACTION

Replace the column seal (dash seal)

^ DO NOT remove the steering column assembly or Intermediate shaft to replace the seal.

^ See the Service Procedure in this bulletin for details.

NOTE

Do not replace the Steering column assy., Intermediate shaft, or Steering rack for this incident, if it ,should occur.
