4. Remove intermediate shaft lower joint to steering rack pinion shaft with the following procedure:

a. Remove fixing bolt (1).

b. Remove pressed cam nut holder (2) completely from intermediate shaft lower joint yoke.

c. Remove cam nut (3) completely from intermediate shaft lower joint yoke.

NOTE:

DO NOT loosen or remove the intermediate shaft upper joint securing bolt.

5. Telescope (push back) the intermediate shaft off of the steering rack pinion shaft.

NOTE:

There is only one way the lower joint can fit on the shaft.

6. Replace the Column Seal (dash seal) shown below with the one from the Parts Information section of this bulletin.

7. Slide the lower joint onto the pinion shaft in the exact same position you removed it from in Step 5. Install the new cam nut and bolt from the Kit
listed in Parts Information.

NOTE:

Make sure the pinion shaft has not slipped down towards the ground.
