Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Inspection After Removal / Installation

FRONT WHEEL HUB AND KNUCKLE

Inspection

INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL
Check components for deformation, cracks, and other damage. Replace if there are.

Ball Joint Inspection
Check boots of transverse link and steering outer socket ball joint for breakage, axial play, and torque. Refer to See: Suspension/Control Arm/Service
and Repair/Transverse Link/Inspection and See: Steering Gear/Service and Repair/Overhaul/Inspection.

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION
1. Check the wheel alignment. Refer to See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Rear Suspension.
2. Adjust neutral position of steering angle sensor. Refer to  See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing

and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Special Repair Requirement
