Record any valve clearance measurements which are out of specification. They will be used later to determine the required replacement adjusting
shim.

Approximately 20°C (68°F) (Reference data)

If an adjustment is done with a cold engine, confirm reference values with hot engine are met.

Limit values 

Intake: ............0.21 - 0.47 mm (0.008 - 0.019 inch) with hot engine reference) 
Exhaust: ................0.30 - 0.56 mm (0.012 - 0.022 inch) 

7. Turn crankshaft one revolution (360) to position No. 4 cylinder at TDC of its compression stroke. 

8. Check only those valves shown in the figure and marked with an x in the table.
9. If outside the standard, adjust applicable valves.
