Remove two nuts that secure the front exhaust tube to the rear tail pipe (see Figure 9).

Remove the front exhaust tube, making sure you slide the metal hanger pin out of the rubber hanger (see Figure 10).

8.

Remove the heat shield and oxygen sensor from the original front exhaust tube and install them onto the new front exhaust tube (see Figure 11).

IMPORTANT:

Use essential tool heated oxygen sensor wrench J-38365 or J-38365-NI to remove the oxygen sensor. Otherwise you might "round off" the hex
nut on the sensor. Additional tools may be purchased from Nissan TECH-MATE.

Apply Genuine Nissan Rust Penetrant P/N 999MP-A3020P (or equivalent) to the oxygen sensor to help with removal.

Oxygen sensor tightening torque: 40 - 60 N-m (4.1 - 6.1 kg-m, 30 - 44 ft-lb).

Apply anti-seize (such as Permatex # 133AR) to the new oxygen sensor threads.

9.

Remove six bolts and remove the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold (see Figure 12).

Apply some Genuine Nissan Rust Penetrant P/N 999MP-A3020P (or equivalent) to the bolts to help with removal.
