CONSULT-II will turn "ON" automatically (see Figure 13).

Confirm that all electrical loads* (except for the ignition) are "OFF".

Headlights, defroster, A/C, Audio (radio), and cellular telephone, etc.

Roll down the driver's window part way, exit the vehicle, close the door, and hang the CONSULT II unit on the outside of the window (see Figure
14).

This step is necessary to make sure the CONSULT-II and DLC-II cable will not be disturbed during reprogramming.

CAUTION:

DO NOT connect the CONSULT-II AC power supply for Steps 17, 18, and 19.
