1991 SENTRA DECK RACK KIT

APPLIED MODEL: 1991 Sentra equipped with deck rack sold between September 1990 and November 1990, (P/N 999R1-BB000).

SERVICE INFORMATION:

Initial shipments of Deck Rack Kits (P/N 999R1-BB000) sold from September 1990 to November 1990 may contain replacement torsion bars that, when
installed, will cause the trunk lid hinge mechanism to lock when the trunk lid is fully opened, thereby preventing the trunk lid from closing. The torsion
bar mounting brackets will be bent or damaged if the trunk lid is forced to close. A countermeasure has been developed to correct this situation on the
kits sold between September 1990 and November 1990.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1.

Straighten torsion bar mounting brackets, or replace, if mounting brackets are broken.

2.

Replace rubber bumper with the countermeasure rubber bumper (P/N 01658-01351). Use gap filling instant adhesive (Cyanoacrylate) to firmly
attach rubber bumper to deck lid bracket. Recommended adhesive is Locktite(R), product number 410 or 416, or equivalent.

3.

Install torsion bars.
