SERVICE INFORMATION
Some customers with GA16 engines may complain of engine noise from the timing chain area. Inspection may reveal the chain tension guide is broken.
The chain tension guide for the GA16i and GA16DE engines have been improved with a steel backing. Due to the improvement made to the chain
tension guide, new style bolts are also required.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
If a GA16 engine is found to have a broken tension guide, use the improved parts when performing service.
