SERVICE INFORMATION

Some of the applied models produced before the applied dates listed above may exhibit a "chirp" noise during 2-3 upshift or 3-2 downshift. The noise
may be coming from the high clutch assembly during operation of the brake band.

This noise can be eliminated by adding a bottle (200cc) of Automatic Transmission Fluid Treatment to the transmission. Please follow the procedure
below.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Confirm incident. The symptoms usually occur when upshifting with moderate throttle application and/or moderate acceleration that causes a 3-2
downshift.

2.

Confirm that the Automatic Transmission is not overfilled. The fluid level should be checked using the "HOT" range on the dipstick at fluid
temperatures of 50~ to 80~C (122~ to 176~F) after the vehicle has been driven approximately five minutes (city driving) after engine is warmed
up (refer to MA section of Service Manual). The check procedure is listed in this bulletin for your reference.

a.

Park vehicle on a level surface and set parking brake.

b.

Start engine and move selector lever through each gear range, ending at "P".

c.

Check fluid level with engine idling.

d.

Remove dipstick and wipe it clean with a lint-free paper.

e.

Re-insert dipstick into dipstick tube as far as it will go.

f.

Remove dipstick and note reading. If transmission is overfilled, drain fluid to proper level as necessary.

3.

Add one bottle (200cc) of ATF Treatment by pouring it down the dipstick tube.

4.

Re-check the the fluid level and add automatic transmission fluid as needed. Do not overfill the transmission.

5.

Indicate in the vehicle maintenance log that ATF Treatment was added to the transmission and note date and mileage.
