SERVICE INFORMATION:

Some 1991 Sentras with factory or dealer-installed air conditioning may exhibit problems with the A/C On/Off switch. There are two separate incidents
that may occur. These incidents may become obvious during A/C kit installation, or after the vehicle is sold to the customer.

Incident # 1:

The A/C switch may become loose and push into the heater
control assembly. This occurs because the switch retaining clip is broken or missing (Figure 1).

Incident # 2:

The A/C switch either sticks in the depressed position
and will not turn OFF, or will not stay locked in the ON position. This occurs because of a faulty detent mechanism
inside the switch.
