Do not remove the triangular mirror base at this time.

Note:
There is a large plastic clip located on the triangular mirror base that attaches the trim panel. It will break if the mirror base is removed before the trim
panel.

Remove trim panel using a # 2 Phillips screw driver and a trim pad remover, Snap-On tool # A177A or equivalent as shown. Make note
of the location of the plastic clips and screws to assist reassembly.

WARNING:
The plastic clips will break if the correct tool is not used.

Remove the interior door trim panel from the door (lift up and out).

f)

Now remove the triangular mirror base.

Visually inspect the inside door waist seal on the trim panel for cracked parts, separated parts, or surface contamination (glue, sealer, etc.).
Replace the door waist seal if necessary.

Note:
It is unnecessary to remove the inner door waist seal from the trim panel to inspect.

2-Door Model Only: Remove the two (10 mm) bolts which attach the seat belt guide, located at the top of the waist (B-Pillar area of the
door).

Remove the door speaker (if applicable), using a # 2 Phillips screwdriver.

8.

Remove vapor barrier carefully. Keep a shop rag handy to wipe unwanted adhesive sealer from any contaminated surface.
