Open and close the window to check for proper operation of regulator.

If closing effort is corrected, proceed to Step 28. If the glass does not slide smoothly, continue with Step 14.

Remove the glass from the window and door assembly. Point the front of the glass (A-pillar side) down into the door and raise the rear
(B-pillar side) upward. Then, remove the door glass by lifting it through the outside of the door assembly (refer to the illustration).

Remove the outside door waist molding from the outer door skin and visually inspect it as in Step 5.

Measure the waist opening between the inner and outer door skin with a caliper at 3 places, refer to the illustration. Gap should be greater
than 30 mm. If gap is less than 30 mm, bend door inner panel toward inside of car (DO NOT bend door outer panel toward outside of car).

Inspect the glass run rubber in the window frame. Look for wear markings, glue, sealer, or twisting. Be sure the glass run rubber is not out of
its channel. Note, it is common for the glass run to be out of its channel below the waist opening at either end. Replace the glass run rubber if
necessary. Countermeasure glass run rubbers were developed in mid October (2-door) and in November (4-door). Refer to the Parts
Information section of this bulletin for ordering details.

18.

Remove the side mirror. There are three 10 mm nuts at the mirror base.

19.

If you can visually find no problems with the glass run rubber, remove it from the channel.

20.

Inspect the sash channel at the mirror bracket area (front of window just above the waist) for weld nuggets or bent flanges.
