SERVICE INFORMATION
Some 1982-1985 Sentra vehicles may exhibit one or two types of wind noise:

A.

A buzzing noise from the 'A' pillar area on all models with a double lip weatherstrip on the front doors. This weatherstrip is primarily found
on vehicles built from May 1983 to May 1984, but may have been retro-fitted to an earlier vehicle by a dealer.

B.

An air leak noise from two possible locations:

1.

Air leaking past the weatherstrip (On vehicles prior to December 1983 production).

2.

Air leaking past the door sash run rubber (On vehicles prior to January 1985 production).

Use the Service Procedure on the following pages to correct these wind noise conditions.
SERVICE PROCEDURE

CONDITION A - Buzzing noise from the 'A' pillar area.

NOTE:

The front door weatherstrips were modified to eliminate this noise beginning with May 1984 production for the Wagon and June 1984
production for the Sedan and Coupe. Vehicles built prior to these dates may be modified (as shown below) to eliminate this noise.

1.

Cut a small hole in the outer lip of the weatherstrip of both doors to the dimensions described below.

CONDITION B1 - Air leak past the weatherstrip.

NOTE:

A rubber seal with adhesive and fastening clips were added to the inside edge of the front door sash beginning with December 1983
production.

Use the following parts for vehicles built prior to December, 1983 which exhibit this noise.
