FACTORY INSTALLED MAINTENANCE FREE BATTERY, ALL MODELS

SERVICE INFORMATION

New type (M.F.) batteries have been installed in all models beginning with February 1985 production. The new maintenance free batteries can be
identified by the color of the labels as shown.

MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES

Maintenance free batteries do not normally require adding water. However, when the battery is used under severe conditions, it may be necessary to add
distilled water during the battery life. To improve serviceability, a perforated line has been added to the caution label of the new M.F. batteries. Use the
procedures to add water to the new batteries.

WARNING:
If the vehicle has been in operation, allow the battery to cool before starting this procedure.
