Dashpot: Adjustments

1.

Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached and ensure idle speed and mixture ratio are properly adjusted.

2.

Turn throttle valve by hand and note engine speed when dashpot just touches stopper lever. Dashpot touch speed should be 1800-2600 RPM.

3.

If dashpot touch speed is not as specified, proceed as follows: 

a.  Remove carburetor from engine.
b. Adjust gap between primary throttle valve and inner carburetor wall when dashpot stem comes in contact with throttle arm.
c. Tighten dashpot locknut, then install carburetor on engine.
d. Ensure dashpot touch speed is as specified.
