Brake Master Cylinder: Removal and Replacement
BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER
Removal and Installation
CAUTION:
Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas; it may cause paint damage. If brake fluid is splashed on painted areas, immediately
wipe them with cloth and wash it away with water.
REMOVAL
1. Drain the brake fluid. See: Brake Fluid/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.
2. Remove the battery. See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement, See: Starting and
Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.
3. Remove the air cleaner and air duct. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner

4. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch harness connector.
5. Disconnect the hose to clutch master cylinder (if equipped) from the brake fluid reservoir.
6. Remove the brake tubes from master cylinder using a suitable tool.
7. Remove the master cylinder and reservoir assembly nuts, and remove the master cylinder and reservoir assembly.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION:
-
Refill using recommended brake fluid.

Never reuse drained brake fluid.

Check if the rod of primary piston has dust or scratches.
