ALTERNATOR NOISE AFTER ENGINE SHUT OFF

IF YOU CONFIRM:

A low-tone whistling noise comes from the alternator for not more than 10 seconds after the engine is shut off.

Please note that this noise is:

Normal and is caused by a rotor "slow-down" function that is designed into the alternator

NOT a failure symptom, so do not replace the alternator for this
